Green Zone Training Opens in a new window

Green Zone training is for faculty and staff that wish to learn more about the military affiliated student experience. Its goals are to train members of the Carolina community to know more about the issues and concerns faced by military affiliated students and to identify individuals who are available to assist this population.
Duration: 3 hours

UndocuCarolina Ally Training Opens in a new window

The three-hour trainings use interactive workshop techniques to familiarize participants with federal, state and University laws and policies that affect undocumented students and their families; teach attendees to identify and make a commitment to immigrant-sensitive language; and make allies aware of resources available on campus and in the community for undocumented students.
Duration: 3 hours

American Disability Act (ADA) Training Opens in a new window

The ADA National network offers live training for employees, supervisors, and HR professionals and more that increases awareness of policies and best practices for supporting disabled or differently-abled individuals and familiarizes participants with their responsibilities and available resources. Provides an overview of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and ADA Amendments Act of 2008.

Standard Safe Zone Training Opens in a new window

The Standard Safe Zone is a four-hour training is designed to introduce concepts, terminology and resources related to sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. There is a short intermission about halfway through.
Duration: 4 hours

Safe Zone Transgender and Nonbinary Training Opens in a new window

Safe Zone Transgender and Nonbinary (formerly Gender Identity and Gender Expression) is a two-hour training designed to make the University community a safer and more supportive place for all Carolina students, faculty, and staff members by creating a network of allies who have basic knowledge about transgender and intersex communities. Standard Safe Zone training is a prerequisite for this training.
Duration: 2 hours

HAVEN Opens in a new window

The HAVEN training provides students, faculty, and staff with tools to support someone who has experienced sexual or interpersonal violence or stalking. The three-hour live training emphasizes the importance of listening, responding compassionately, and connecting those affected by violence to resources on campus and in the community.
Duration: 3 hours

Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Fundamentals Training Opens in a new window

This training is offered by the Office of State Human Resources and is required by law for managerial and supervisory employees. Participants learn about federal and state equal employment opportunity and affirmative action laws in the context of daily work situations.
Duration: 13 hours

Blueprint for Engaged Supervision Training (BEST) Opens in a new window

Required live training for employee supervisors that covers a number of topics pertaining to their role as a supervisor at the University. EOC presents a section of the training that provides information about maintaining a welcoming and equitable work environment, as well as equal opportunity laws. Check with your HR representative for eligibility information.
